Young Life Assignment

Day 1... Week 1....

So today marked the beginning of our month long assignment here at Lost Canyon. We have already been away from home for four days and this is about our 5th trip this summer! So its already a bit exhausting and exciting all at the same time.

At camp we are part of the Assignment Team for Third Session. Jeremy is on staff and is doing Program. I am what they call a "Staff Wife" who just hangs out and is here to support my Hubby, And Kason is what we call an "A-Team Brat". :o) and let me tell you, he is THE cutest 8 month old A-Team Brat here!!!

On assignment with us are a bunch of great families who have LOTS of kids. I think there are 20 some kids living in our house and wearing the tread off their bikes. They have so much fun out here! I am so excited to be back on assignment one day with Kason when he is old enough to play with all the other kids and run wild because that's all he is wanting to do already.

Kase is doing sooo well! He is sleeping great (knock on wood) and taking fantastically long naps! And since I am a Staff Wife/Mom, I have to stay in the room and nap with him. :O) He loves all the other kids and waves to random people when we are out strolling around.

Jeremy is running at full force already! He, Scott (our area director from ABQ) and Becky Jo (staff person in Flagstaff) are the AMAZING program team here for the month. They have hilarious characters and great skits that they have begun doing for all 470 campers. The kids already love each of them. It is always so hard to explain to people what Jeremy is doing out here for a month and what program is. Its odd to tell people, "My Husband is a CIA agent named Cat-Daddy, a ghetto-chef named Chef Wedgie and a Hillbilly named Hacksaw. He does funky dances, wraps like nobody's business and can rock a mullet with the best of them..." People don't get that by just telling them, but for me watching him do what he do, goofy and all, makes me so proud of him and so proud to be called his wife! I will post pictures and videos all month long to try and give you a better idea of what we are all up to out here so you can be proud too! :O)

Prayer requests:
Please be praying for the program team. They are all three so busy and running on little sleep. Pray that they can find time to rest as well as be with their families and pray that they would not loose their voices like so often happens.

Me. I am trying to make friends with other wives, and really like all of them, but I am finding myself staying in my room for a lot of hours just hanging with Kason. So I would love to get out of my little comfort zone and dive into some new relationships with the ladies around me.

My sissy. Johanna is on Work Crew for the month and is a Tawashy. She will be cleaning bathrooms all month long and folding laundry. Pray that she learns life lessons and grows closer to Jesus even through the stinch and grim of the job.

Campers. These kids NEED Jesus! Pray that they find him!

Love you all!

Week 19

So, after talking myself into the baby being a GIRL, we very clearly were shown that was not the case! One of the first images the tech takes on the Ultrasound was of a very vivid little PENIS! :o) Before the tech could say anything, Jeremy just starts laughing and I just say, “Oh my gosh!!!” She then hit the button that says “It’s a BOY!” with an arrow pointing to his man parts!

The funniest part of this US was that we take another look at the genitles and babies hand is RIGHT next to his ‘bing bong’ and then he begins to play with it!!! This was absolutely hilarious but it continued to get funnier. A few different positions and pictures later, the tech gets to a good profile shot where we find baby SUCKING HIS THUMB of the same hand that was just playing with himself!!! Ha ha ha! What have I got myself into!?!?!

It took me a few hours to really process that we were now having a precious baby boy and not our precious little Myla Mae that I had been planning for. I realized that I had not even begun to think of things for a boy and have no names really picked out! This really made me feel bad and realize I was assuming things waaay to early!

Week 15-18

Throughout these three or so weeks, I did a lot! I had my birthday, Jeremy’s graduation party to plan and throw, Young Life was super busy getting ready for camp and then going to camp and just a lot of stress going on all around me. I tried really hard to keep everything together and not let anyone or anything push me over the edge for mine and babies sake. I felt like I could have an emotional breakdown at anytime. However, I really surprised myself and pulled everything off that I needed too!

Jeremy graduating from UNM was such a huge accomplishment! I am so proud of him and all his hard work and know that he stuck with it and did great for me and for the baby! He is the most amazing Husband and works so hard for this little perfect family of ours.

After the party went off without a hitch, we then got ready for camp! I was not sure how I would do at camp with my own cabin and 10 girls to keep up with! It turned out to be so much fun and a great way to possibly end camping for a few years! My girls LOVED my belly and would lay by my bed every night touching it and trying to feel the baby move. A few of them felt the little kicks that I have now started feeling at night and a few others just took bets on BOY or GIRL! We would soon find out the next Monday!

14 week update

Baby at 12 weeks :o) Love, love, love!!!!

Hi hi. So we had an ultrasound a few weeks ago at what we thought was 13 weeks. But according to the size of the baby on the US I was only 12 weeks at that time. So my due date was changed from Oct. 28th to Nov. 6th.

This ultrasound was sooo cool! Baby actually looks like a baby rather than a mouse and s/he was all over the place! The US tech was getting a bit frustrated becaue the baby wouldn't roll over and show us a side profile or a front view, but eventually she rolled over! It was the coolest thing being able to watch her just move around and hiccup! The tech said she (or he) is dramatic because she kept putting her hands over hers eyes and ears! Sooo cool! Jer and I got to watch Baby on the screen for almost an hour and got to listen to the wonderful sound of the heartbeat in the background!

Something VERY unofficial that was kinda cool was that both of the tech's said that their guess on the sex of the baby was GIRL, but of course it was too early to confirm. So we will see what they decide on June 7th!!! We will love a boy or girl, I just have a feeling that it is a girl!

At my dr. apt the next week Dr. Dandade said everything looked great and baby is keeping a steady heartbeat right around the 160's. He also told us that all the blood tests for down syndrom came back completely normal which is a blessing!

I have been feeling really really good! My belly has lost some of its bloaty-ness and so my pooch is mostly down by my belly button. And somehow for the first time in years I have 2 abs showing at the top of my tummy!! Ha ha! I think everything must just be pulling it down! :o)

Anywho, ill keep everyone updated and will let you know how the next Apt. goes!

First Prenatal visit

We went and saw Dr. Dandade April 2 and we were so excited/nervous! Jeremy has been saying, "What if you really arn't pregnant!" That started to sink in and make me think, "well what if i'm not...." So when he finally did the ultrasound and right away there was the baby, Jer and I were so excited!!! Jer pointed out the fluttering heartbeat before the doctor even did and we couldn't stop smiling! Thats our little baby!!!

Doc says everything looks good and to continue doing what I am doing! So prayers for a continued healthy pregnancy and baby would be great!!!

So I guess my blog is annoying???....

I recently went to an old friends facebook page to tell her congrats on her marriage! The first thing I see on her page is her younger sisters comment which says,

Hey! You have to look at this "preggers" blog on here! I thought only Mormon Mommy's were this annoying!
Attached to the comment was a link to my blog! Wow!

I thought this was sooo rude! I do not know her and have no idea how she even came across my blog. I am pregnant and am enjoying sharing this exciting time in my life with all of my family friends close to home and far away!

So the reason I am telling you this is because I am not pressuring anyone into reading what I have to say. I only do it for the people who are truely interested in my life. I will not be offended if you don't want to read anything I have to say, but why be hateful and rude when this is my life and I am excited about it. I love looking at my friends blogs and knowing how they are! I would never bash someone for expressing their excitement. But I will bash someone when they are bitchy to me...

That is my little rant. So enjoy my blog if you follow it! If you don't, no problem! And if you (creepily) follow my blog but find me annoying, keep it to yourself. I don't care about you.
